Eliserena Kimolo

Mrs. Kimolo has been involved in providing care and treatment to children in Tanzania for 35 years since she was 16 years old, and currently is volunteering with the Harambee Africa which was developed to help those affected with AIDS/HIV in Kenya. The impetus for her decision to establish JACH stems from her own experience of separation as a child from her parents in the impoverished and rural regions. Mrs. Kimolo was moved by the plight of homeless and vulnerable Tanzanian children who had often become street urchins.
Mweka Akiba – Women Self Help Group

Mrs. Fumbu established the self help women group to uplift the living standards of the women through farming, micro finance, and healthcare education. Over the past two years, members in self help groups have embarked on housing initiatives instead of waiting for government help of bank loans. The result is that hundreds of women have used Micro finance loans to build or renovate their home.

Success Children was founded by Rose Astrid Valmond in November 2008, after she was inspired by God to assist four children in Haiti to obtain an education. Although this seemed like a difficult mission, not knowing where the money would come from, she listened. Later on that day, following her inspiration from God, a woman approached her at church asking if she knew of anyone in need of help in Haiti. She knew this woman was sent by God and gave Him the glory.
JNN Foundation Imani Women’s Group

Women in Kenya are finding that there’s strength in numbers: if they pool their resources together in self-help groups of their own creation, they can radically change their lives and the lives of their families and communities.
East African Women Lawyers Association

Jacqueline Omogeni, Esq
Founder & CEO
Mrs. Omogeni is a lawyer working at the UN. She founded EAWLA, a membership organization of women lawyers in the East African region whose vision is to ensure promotion of women’s rights and gender justice. They aim to improve the status of women and children through the dissemination of laws, sensitization advocacy, research, training, conflict resolution, peace building to institutions, local authorities, traditional authorities groups and the general public. Their vision is to see a society free from abuse, domestic violence where Human Rights of Women and Children are widely acknowledged and recognized.
